Spruce Spider Mite

Problems with spider mites have declined in western North Carolina as more growers leave ground covers around their fields and refrain from using insecticides that aggravate mite problems. They can still develop into damaging populations, especially in dry years. Recognizing when a problem is starting is the key to keeping problems in check.
