This webinar is tailored toward Western North Carolina farmers and farm workers affected by tropical storm Helene. While Christmas tree farmers and ornamental nursery producers are the focus, we expect the information dispensed will be useful for many types of farmers affected by the storm. NC State Extension personnel will discuss the state of affairs and short- and long-term needs. Department of Labor, Department of Commerce, and USDA Farm Service Agency Administrators and Specialists will discuss and take questions regarding department responses, programs, loans, and grants available to Western North Carolina farmers and farm workers. A North Carolina Department of Transportation specialist will discuss current road conditions and the DriveNC Map. Translation into Spanish will be available by NC State extension personnel if needed.
